Burns
You can easily get burned by heat and fire but radiation, sunlight, electricity and chemicals are also potential dangers.
Treating burns and scalds
Check your surroundings, switch off electrical appliances and remove hot water before treating the casualty.
Cool the burnt or scalded area under cold running water for at least 10 minutes then dry gently and carefully.
You can also treat the burn wound with Elastoplast SOS Burn Spray, which quickly relieves pain and cools burns and scalds.
Apply Elastoplast SOS Burn Plaster if you think you need a dressing; it cools instantly, protects and moisturizes the wound, reduces the risk of scarring and allows the wound to heal faster.
Tip: never put fat or butter onto burns or remove anything that is stuck to the skin, such as clothing. When in doubt, ask for medical advice.
